Shreveport, Louisiana — May 7, 2026 — YWCA Northwest Louisiana proudly celebrated a record-breaking year during Give for Good Day, raising more than $11,000 to support programs that empower women, strengthen families, and advance racial and social justice throughout Northwest Louisiana.
The 24-hour community-wide giving event united donors, volunteers, local businesses, and supporters who rallied behind the YWCA’s mission to eliminate racism and empower women. This year’s campaign exceeded previous fundraising milestones, with donor participation more than doubling from 49 donors in 2025 to 110 donors in 2026.
As part of the celebration, YWCA hosted two engaging community events throughout the day, including a vibrant Cinco de Mayo-themed event at Fab Finds and outreach efforts during Ki Mexico’s Cinco de Mayo festivities, creating opportunities to connect directly with the community while raising awareness and support for YWCA programs and services.
Funds raised during Give for Good Day will directly support YWCA Northwest Louisiana’s critical initiatives, including senior support services, youth empowerment programs, free counseling services for women, parenting education for families connected through DCFS, racial and social justice programming, and continued support for Fab Finds, the organization’s resale shop that helps fund YWCA programs.
“Thank you to everyone who made our Give for Good campaign such an incredible success,” said Rachel Scott, Give For Good YWCA Coordinator.
“We not only surpassed our fundraising goal, but we also experienced tremendous growth in community engagement and donor support. These funds allow us to continue providing life-changing programs and resources for women, girls, seniors, and families throughout our region. We are deeply grateful to every donor, volunteer, partner, and supporter who believes in our mission and continues to stand beside us.”
Community support came in many forms throughout the campaign, including online donations, social media advocacy, and matching gifts that helped maximize the impact of contributions made during the event.
