Women Who Care, Share Luncheon

Louisiana's First Lady Donna Edwards is Keynote Speaker

at the 4th Annual Women Who Care, Share Luncheon

Louisiana’s First Lady Donna Edwards will headline the YWCA of Northwest Louisiana’s 4th Annual Women Who Care, Share luncheon to be held on Thursday, August 23, at 11:30 at East Ridge Country Club in Shreveport.  Mrs. Edwards will speak on this year’s theme: The Power of Women. In addition, a panel discussion on the nuances of being a woman in leadership will include New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, Baton Rouge Mayor Sharon Weston Broome, and Shreveport Mayor Ollie Tyler.
We host this event annually to educate our community about our programs and how they support our clients so they can build a future free from poverty, violence, and racism. Our core programs include Support Groups and Counseling for women experiencing trauma; Young Women Choosing Action; LEAD (Leadership, Empowerment, and Development) to teach leadership skills, healthy relationships, good decision-making, goal setting, and personal safety for girls ages 11-18; F.R.E.E. Coalition to End Human Trafficking; Racial Justice Programming including Dialogues on Race and community forums; and Parenting Education and Support Program. This event also provides critical funding for YWCA NWLA, a key provider of women services for Northwest Louisiana.  We hope that you can join us!
