American Menu - A Mahogany Ensemble Theatre Production
Time: Thursday - Friday, 7:30 pm Evening
Saturday, 2 pm Matinee
Location: East Bank Theatre
Description: The play "American Menu" concerns five black restaurant workers in the kitchen of a "whites only" Texas diner. It's May 1968, between the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy, the air is fraught with momentous events--national, local and personal. The play reminds us that just like soul food, African Americans are part of the American menu too.
